Every year we strive to bring you the best in Louisville fashion by bringing experienced and emerging designers, milliners, and jewelers to our runway. Featuring Louisville desinger and owner of Ann DeEvelyn Clothing Co. Frances Lewis, "Revelations" will be a truly immersive fashion experience complete with original works of visual art, music,and poetry.
The Inspiration
Revelation - something revealed or disclosed, especially a striking disclosure, as of something not before realized.
"Often times I've asked myself, "What is my purpose?"And I realize how existential that sounds, but I really wondered what exactly am I supposed to be doing with my time here. I always knew I wanted more than to wake up, go to work, come home, and go to bed. I'm not disciplined enough for such a routine. But, what do I do instead?
After a recent intense and rigorous fashion show, I woke up one day and had an answer to that question. My purpose is to push myself and constantly learn new ways to do things. My purpose is to inspire. My purpose is to show others what's possible in themselves. My favorite bible verse is Philippians 4:13. "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." That message drives everything I do. If anything I've done compels someone else to beleive that sentiment for themselves, then I've done what i'm meant to do.
Finding your purpose is such a freeing thing. "Revelations" is celebration of that freedom. Ignoring the rules of what fall fashion is supposed to be. and inspiring us explore what fall fashion could be. Hope you enjoy the show!"
